Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

A+W wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, magnification, or zoom. We work to make the site accessible and to keep it that way as it changes.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are the international standard for web accessibility, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some content does not fully meet the standard: the pages we built were designed and tested to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and the exceptions are the items listed under Known limitations.

How we checked

This website was evaluated on October 2, 2026, and checked again on October 8, 2026, by Chamberlin Design, the company that built it (a self-evaluation):

• Automated testing with axe, the accessibility testing engine from Deque Systems, against every WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA rule it checks, on every page, on a computer and a phone.
• Hands-on checks of keyboard use, visible focus, color contrast, zoom and reflow down to a 320 pixel wide screen, form labels and error messages, and moving content.

What we did

• A Skip to content link, clear headings, and page landmarks so you can move around quickly.
• Every page works with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline. The phone menu and the cookie preferences open and close with a keyboard, and Esc closes them.
• Text and buttons meet the WCAG color contrast levels, and pages still work when zoomed to 200% or on a 320 pixel wide screen.
• Photos have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• Every form field has a label, choices are grouped with a legend, and errors are shown in text.
• Body text is set large, and headlines stay at two short lines on every screen size.
• Motion is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.

Known limitations

• Map. The service area map comes from Mapbox, which we do not control. Every town we serve, our hours, and our address are always written out in text next to it, and the map works with a keyboard once it has loaded.

Technology

The site is built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA, and relies on them to be accessible. It is designed to work with current versions of Safari, Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, and with screen readers such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, and NVDA.

If anything on this site is hard to use, or you find something that does not meet these standards, please tell us. We will get you the information or the service you need another way, and we will work to fix the problem. We try to respond within two business days.
