Privacy Policy

A&W Homecare LLC, doing business as A+W Cleaning Service, including A+W Auto Detailing ("A+W," "we," "us"), is a family business at 8430 M-119, Suite 5, Harbor Springs, MI 49740. This policy covers this website and the calls, emails, and texts that come from it. It explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

The short version

• We collect what you send us, like your name, phone number, address, and the service you need, so we can give you an estimate and do the work.
• Job applicants share contact and work details so we can review applications and call them back.
• If you nominate someone for a donated cleaning, we keep what you tell us private and use it only to reach out with care.
• We never sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
• Google Analytics runs only if you accept analytics cookies, and you can change your mind any time.
• You can ask to see, correct, or delete your information by calling or emailing us.

Information we collect

Information you give us

Estimate requests. Your first and last name, phone number, email, whether you need cleaning or auto detailing, and the service or package. For a cleaning, the street address, town, and ZIP code of the place to be cleaned, how often, the best time to call, and the number of bedrooms and bathrooms if you add them. For auto detailing, your vehicle type and, if you add them, its year, make, and model. Also any photos you add (we keep them privately with your request and send them to our team by email), anything you write in the message box, and whether you checked the optional box for text messages, with the words you saw and when.

Job applications. Your name, phone number, email if you add it, the job, the hours you want, your experience, whether you have a driver's license, your town, who sent you, your message, whether you checked the optional box for text messages (with the words you saw and when), and how you found the page (for example a Facebook or Indeed link).

Nominations for a donated cleaning. Your name, phone number, and email if you add it, whether you checked the optional box for text messages, plus the first name and town of the person you nominate, how you know them, and why a cleaning would help. Please share only what they would be comfortable with, and ask them first if you can. We keep nominations private.

Gifts. When giving opens on this site, card payments are handled by Stripe on its secure checkout page. We receive your name, email, the amount, and whether the gift is one time or monthly. We never see or store your card number.

Calls, texts, and emails. When you call, text, or email us, we have what you share, including any photos.

Information collected automatically

Our website host keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and the date and time, for security and to keep the site running. We also count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and keeps no personal data. Our forms use your IP address for a short time to limit repeated sends; it is kept only in the server's memory. When the service area map loads, Mapbox receives your IP address and basic map usage so it can draw the map. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records how you use the site, such as pages visited and buttons tapped.

Information we do not ask for

We do not ask for Social Security numbers, payment card or bank numbers, or health information through this website. Please do not send them through our forms.

How we use it

• To answer your request, give you an estimate, and schedule a visit. We may add your request to Jobber, the system we use to schedule jobs and keep customer records.
• To do the work and keep you updated about your appointment.
• To review job applications, contact applicants, and see which job posts reach people.
• To follow up on nominations and plan donated cleanings.
• To process and record gifts, and to send receipts.
• To keep the website secure and stop spam.
• To understand how the site is used and make it better, if you accept analytics cookies.
• To keep business and tax records and meet legal requirements.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Some browser storage works the same way. This site uses two kinds:

• Strictly necessary (always on). Your cookie choice is saved in your browser as aw-consent for 12 months. The service area map from Mapbox saves a small record called mapbox.eventData so the map runs. Our staff sign-in area uses a sign-in cookie that only staff see.
• Analytics (only if you accept). Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_<ID> cookies for 13 months to count visits and see which pages help. Before you choose, and if you reject, the site sends nothing to Google. Advertising features are off, and Google Analytics does not store your IP address. When analytics is running and you first visit, you can accept all, reject all, or manage your preferences, and rejecting is as easy as accepting. Nothing optional runs until you choose. You can change your choice any time with Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of every page, or by clearing your browser's storage. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a choice to reject analytics. There is no common standard for the older Do Not Track setting, so the site does not respond to it separately, but we do not track you across other websites either way.

How we share it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only in these ways:

• Companies that help us run the website and the business, only so they can do that work for us: our website host (Vercel), our database (Supabase), our email delivery services (Postmark and Resend), the map (Mapbox), our scheduling and customer system (Jobber), card payments for gifts (Stripe), and Google Analytics if you accept analytics cookies.
• Our website developer, Chamberlin Design, which builds and maintains the site and our staff tools.
• When the law requires it, for example to answer a subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, our team, or others.
• If the business changes hands. If A+W is sold or merged, records would move to the new owner, who would have to honor this policy.

Text messages and calls

When you send us an estimate request, a job application, or a nomination, we may call or email you about it. Each of these forms also has an optional box for text messages. If you check it, we may text you about your request, such as scheduling and arrival times. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Agreeing is not a condition of any purchase, and you can always reach us by phone or email instead. We do not send marketing texts. We keep a record of your permission, including the words you agreed to and when, for at least four years.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your permission to receive texts and your mobile number are not shared with any third parties.

How long we keep it

• Estimate requests and customer records: kept with no set deletion date, as long as we need them to serve you and for tax and business records. Photos you add are kept with the request and deleted with it; photos added to a request that was never sent are deleted within a few days. You can ask us to delete yours at any time, unless we need it for work we are doing for you or the law.
• Job applications: kept with no set deletion date, so we can reach out when a spot opens. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
• Nominations: kept with no set deletion date. You or the person you nominated can ask us to delete a nomination at any time.
• Your permission for text messages: at least four years, with the request it came with.
• Gifts: as long as tax and business record keeping requires.
• Analytics: cookies last 13 months, and Google Analytics keeps detailed event data for no more than 14 months.
• Website logs: our host keeps short technical logs for security and troubleshooting, then deletes them.

How we protect it

The site uses encryption (HTTPS) for everything you send, access to your information is limited to the people who need it to serve you, and the companies we work with keep their own security programs. No website or email system can be completely secure, so please do not send passwords, card numbers, or health information through our forms. If a security breach ever affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

• Ask to see the personal information we have about you, or get a copy of it.
• Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
• Ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it for work we are doing for you or the law.
• Stop texts any time by replying STOP.
• Turn analytics cookies on or off any time with Your Privacy Choices.

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you more rights, such as opting out of the sale or sharing of your information, targeted advertising, or profiling. We do not sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising or profiling, and we honor requests to see, correct, or delete information from everyone, wherever they live.

To make a request, call 231-881-5949 or email ahlea@awcleaningservice.com. We may ask you to confirm a few details so we know the request is really from you, and someone you authorize may ask for you. We respond within 45 days, and if we cannot do what you ask, we will explain why and you can ask us to reconsider. We will never treat you differently for using these rights.

Children

This website is not meant for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Other websites and visitors outside the U.S.

Our site links to other websites, such as Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies. We are based in Michigan, and information you send us is stored and handled in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least once a year and when our practices change. We will post any update here with a new date at the top, and for important changes we will also put a notice on the website before they take effect.
